DESCRIPTION:Teach grammar for the sake of reading and writing. \nRegistration is CLOSED.\nEnrollment is FULL\nEl Paso\, Texas\n \nWorkshop Summary \nExperience two days of easy-to-manage\, student-engaging Anchor Lessons\, Anchor Charting\, Learning Rituals & Routines and an introduction to Alice Nine’s Interactive Grammar Notebook\, followed by online lessons for blended classroom instruction. \nAnchor Lessons and Anchor Charts build concepts with clear\, concise\, easy explanations and definitions. Mentor texts model with accurate examples. The Grammar Notebook becomes a student’s resource book. Full-color graphics and explicit notebook building is part of the lessons in Alice Nine’s online Grammar Boot Camps. Based on scientific research & best practices these grammar lessons align with the new ELAR TEKS and the ELPS and support gains in STAAR Writing. \nAlignment with NEW ELAR TEKS \nStrand 6 — The student learns grammar basics during the creation of an interactive grammar notebook. The student uses acquired knowledge to support appropriate use of conventions to edit\, analyze\, and revise a mentor sentence. The student writes legibly.\nStrand 5 – The student uses critical inquiry to notice and analyze the authors’ choices and how they influence and communicate meaning in a mentor sentences. DESCRIPTION:Integrating phonemic awareness\, handwriting\, phonics\, spelling\, and vocabulary \nRegistration is OPEN.\nEl Paso\, Texas \nWorkshop Summary \nAlice Nine will show you how to integrate the following during Word Study lessons\, without worksheets:\n \nphonemic awareness with sounds and syllables — \nsystematic\, explicit phonics —\nhandwriting instruction — \nspelling practice —\nword grammar — \nand how-to sound out words for both reading and writing \nAligns with new ELAR TEKS\n \nDaily Word Study with content (phonograms and words) and routines of JCSpell provide ongoing opportunities to address\nStrand 1– The student develops word structure knowledge through phonological awareness\, print concepts\, phonics\, and morphology to communicate\, decode\, and spell (encode) during the daily JCSpell lesson routines\, i\,e.\, Think to Spell\, Word Talk. The student uses newly acquired vocabulary expressively through oral and written sentences during Word Talk.\nStrand 6 — The student composes legible texts during I-Work.
