Last night
it snowed.
A hushed white,
a soft, muffling blanket
tucked me in.
Nothing to do,
and so I did nothing.

Come by and join in!
And thank you Carol!

Such a dusting of joy in my reading your poem. Nature always bring consolation.
I like your “dusting of joy” –makes a connection to fairy tales π
Thanks, Alice. π Great post.
Oh my goodness, I feel a chill just reading those words! But there’s still such a comforting coziness to the scenes as well. A beautiful wintery moment.
And we appreciate the “comforting coziness” all the more because of the “chill.” Thanks for stopping by!
How wonderful to be able to do nothing, to go with nature’s flow. What a lovely poem and picture!
Thank you. So glad you stopped by π
We haven’t had any snow yet this year. Would love to be tucked in by a little of it π
π Here’s hoping you get at least one before winter is over.
Gorgeous, Alice! “a hushed white” That’s a great description. Ahh, to sit and do nothing is worth something!
Thank you, Kiesha. So true: “to sit and do nothing is worth something!”
Ah…sounds like heaven. The silence of a sudden snow and just doing…nothing.
Thank you for stopping by this morning, Mary Lee!
What a lovely invitation to sit and be still.
Thank you for visiting me this morning, Kay.
That is how snow that suddenly appears feels, not sure about going out, plans canceled. Great poem!
Thank you, Linda. I like that feeling, at least for the first 24 hours. After that it can become a bit of a nuisance.
Alice, just as I was about to turn the computer off, I found your offering for PF. It is lovely with a gentle softness and a peaceful tone. Will you consider offering it for my gallery, #WinterWonder17? I hope so. The invitation is at http://beyondliteracylink.blogspot.com/2017/01/invitation-to-winter-wonder-17.html. You can take a screenshot of the photo and poem with your signature.
Thank you, Carol. I will.
