Tuesday Slice of Life : May 10, 2016.
The sky is summery
Here, there is a puff of white
The sun is warm on my face
But a brisk, nippy breeze
Reminds me of winter
A profusion of blossoms
Arrayed in a myriad of color
Some brilliant, some now faded
Nod as they welcome a few bees
Trees have donned their green garb
Birds chirp from their branches
Squirrels scamper from limb to limb
Children’s voices drift about me
Rising and falling like music
And I am intoxicated
With the smell of freshly mowed grass
That’s what it’s like
As I sit in my Adirondack chair
On this afternoon in May

Alice, this is a breath of springtime. Would you consider offering this as a digital composition for my online spring gallery of artistic expressions? Read on=>http://beyondliteracylink.blogspot.com/2016/05/spring-gallery-invitation.html. If yes, you can send it to me (directions in post). Thanks.
Thank you, Carol. I’d love to. But just in case I don’t get to it… please know it is because of a packed schedule. I start a 10-day trip tomorrow… 7 days of which are full days of PD and a 5-day trip on the heels of that.
Thank you for letting me enjoy this summer day! I’m anxious for the warmer, or even warm, weather to appear. It should be here soon and I can enjoy my day just like you. ~Amy
Ahhhh, wishing they come quickly for you. I fall in love all over again with these days every year! I’m so sad that tomorrow I must start a 10-day trip away from all this beauty. It is a good thing that I also love working with teachers.
What a lovely moment! I must say I’m a bit jealous. In Maine the past few weeks have been primarily dark, dreary and chilly. If I’d been in an Adirondack chair outside, I’d have been wearing a coat, holding an umbrella, and probably crying! 😉 We’re due for a lovely stretch of weather now and we’ll appreciate it even more! Yay,Spring!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it! Wish I could send a few hours of it to you. I’m always amazed when I compare our weather with other parts of the country. We live about 50 miles north of the 45th parallel which also runs right through Maine, yet look at how we compare.
