Slice of Life March Challenge. No. 1.
Yesterday–
that would be February 28th–
my alarm ended my slumber
while night still covered my city
which is located north of the 45th
I tumbled from my bed–
my bags almost ready–
mentally checking my list
to the last item — passport!
The day was long–
three flights long–
from northwest
to southwest
over the Gulf
landing in MIA–
that was crossing USA
Final boarding dance
and we were off
to our
Southern Hemisphere
destination.
Four hours later–
while it’s still February 28th–
we arrived Guayaquil.
This morning–
that would be March 1st–
I awoke
south of the Equator.
Deicing for takeoff.
Daybreak over Oregon.
The Gulf under my wings.
Destination.
Thank you, Two Writing Teachers, for hosting

Looking forward to hearing about your time time south of the equator!
Thanks, Diane. It will be fun to journal some slices then next ten days.
Your pictures added to the imagery of the words. Can’t wait to read about your adventure south of the equator.
Thanks, Caroline, and please do come by as I share the next few days.
Love the pictures. Have a great time. I am heading to Australia, but not until next month.
Thanks! I’ve never been to Australia. You must post on Tuesdays or more often when you go!
Oh, wonderful to start this SOLC in a true adventure! Enjoy your time, will look for you!
Thanks! 🙂
Two years ago I missed a post as I was traveling around Europe and the British Isles whenthe time warp got me. I’m heading to Europe again later this month and not sure how posting will work out. We’ll see.
Enjoy your trip.
And you yours! At least I am not dealing with time zone issues in South America.
