Celebrate This Week : February 18, 2017.
I celebrate changing a habit and feeling luxurious: The Coffee Carafe.
We do so many things by habit and don’t even realize it. My coffee makers have always had a glass carafe with a warmer plate. So always, forever, as long as I can remember, I’ve pour my morning cup and then put the carafe back on its warmer. It’s a habit. Well, last summer, we bought a new coffee maker with a stainless steel thermos carafe. This past week, I poured my cup, and suddenly realized I could put the carafe on our breakfast table. Want a refill? No getting up to pour it. It felt like a luxury.
I celebrate writing: My First Ten-Words-Found Poem.
During the past two weeks, I’ve seen numerous references by fellow bloggers to the writing challenge 5th Annual February Daily Poem Project. I was intrigued (#w10FoundWords). On Wednesday, I decided to give it a try, applied to join the closed Facebook group, and within minutes, received my acceptance notice. In this writing challenge, ten words are randomly selected from a news article. They are posted each morning. Using these ten words, participants write a poem. Here’s my first ten-words-found poem: Empty Echoes.
I celebrate technology: A New Set-up For Webinars.
Tom, my daughter’s husband, introduced me to OBS. He set it up on my Mac and then connected the hardware so I had multiple screens and my document camera. With a swipe or tap on my track pad, I moved from a Keynote presentation, to an image of my desk via my HoverCam, to my image from the camcorder.ย Sitting in my home in the northwest, I Skyped like a tech-savy for an hour with educators in Texas. I can do more of this!
I celebrate winning: You Just Wait: A Poetry Friday Power Book by
I saw it first–the notice that I was a winner– in a comments box on my blog. Then I saw it posted at “Write Time,” Linda Kulp Trout’s blog. I’m so excited; I can’t remember when I last won a prize. I’ll be watching for it in the snail mail. Thank you, Linda.
